CIMAR Gammacolor is a water-based colored acrylic protective coating developed to protect bitumen waterproofing membranes from UV rays and atmospheric aging. The product is based on styrene-acrylic resins in water emulsion and is used on prefabricated bitumen membranes, liquid bitumen waterproofing, and concrete surfaces.
Gammacolor is a practical solution when the protection and appearance of existing waterproofing need to be improved without implementing a new heavy system. After drying, the product forms a colored protective film that limits the direct impact of sunlight on the bitumen surface and helps better preserve the coating over time.
The substrate must be clean and dry. Before use, the product must be stirred vigorously until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Apply by brush, roller, or airless spray. If necessary, it can be diluted with water up to a maximum of 10%. Consumption depends on the porosity and smoothness of the surface.
For new bitumen-polymer membranes, an aging period must be observed before painting, as the release of oils from the membrane can lead to peeling or color differences. The technical data sheet specifies a minimum of 3 months, while the warnings recommend application on membranes approximately 6 months after installation.
The second coat is applied only after the first has completely dried.

CIMAR Gammacolor is a suitable choice for projects requiring simultaneous protection, coverage, and improved appearance of the bitumen surface. The product offers good coverage and durability while remaining an economical solution for the maintenance and protection of roof waterproofing.
The coating is water-based with low VOC content — the technical data sheet specifies 5 g/l of ready product, making it more practical to work with compared to products with higher solvent content.
The product is easily applied by brush, roller, or airless spray, allowing for use on both small repair sections and larger roof areas.
Where Gammacolor makes the most sense
For bitumen membranes, UV rays and high temperatures accelerate surface aging. Therefore, the colored protective coating should not be viewed merely as decorative paint, but as a supporting protective layer that reduces direct atmospheric impact on the membrane.
Gammacolor is particularly suitable for roof areas where the waterproofing is stable but needs additional surface protection, refreshing, or color unification. It is not a product for solving active leaks, strong water pressure, or areas with standing water.
Gammacolor is not a waterproofing membrane and is not a pedestrian coating. The product is a protective-decorative layer for bitumen membranes and concrete. It can only be stepped on for periodic maintenance.
Do not use on wet or damp substrates, or when there is a risk of rain, high humidity, frost, or temperatures below +5°C during drying. Do not apply on surfaces with standing water, nor in tanks, basements, channels, or areas with strong backwater pressure or pressurized water.
